Bla bla bla

Shut Up Already!! But Key Man wouldn't, so he got DUCK TAPE stapled to his mouth! Tsk tsk tsk, shoulda' had that tape when my kids were little!

This weeks Stampotique Designers Challenge is Attachers, and OMG have I seen some FAB ideas on the group posts.

Started with some stash, added the bla bla bla'z and it grew from there.  Key Man was stamped, colored and destroyed for being a big mouth.  Not only does he have his mouth taped and stapled, he has a screw in his head too!  I also added some stitching and a paper clip attacher.  Thanks Kathi for a fun challenge.

I've been pretty bad about making art lately, but I'm really trying to work on it, so plan on being inundated with art soon.


 

At The Lake - Blogger Challenge

This looks cool and refreshing..........something we are NOT here in HOT, VERY HOT and steamy SW Florida this summer. Just looking at this kinda' cools me down a bit.

It's A Christmas Blog Hop at Artistic Outpost

If we start now...................we should avoid the Christmas card rush to get them all made and posted! That's what they tell me....that's what they say! Sounds like the song doesn't it!

 This month the Artistic Outpost Design Team is helping you get into the Christmas card frenzy (oops...did I say that!) early. We are using stamps from the Christmas and Winter line which you can find here.  I made an ornament, using chipboard and paints for a mixed media, fun affect. The scene is from Sleigh Ride and the date from Snowy Woods. If you love vintage, Artistic Outpost has the BEST vintage, Christmas stamps!

PRESENTING "THE BIRDS" in Living Techicolor

It was 1963, an amazing film by the Master of Suspense!

I loved all the Alfred Hitchcock movies, his books and the TV series...I could watch them over and over again.  I think I saw this one in the Drive In Theater on Cicero Ave and 31st Street back in the day.  (I cannot remember the name.)

I found this stamp many years ago, in a discount box sitting on the floor at a stamp show, I remember it clearly.  I was so excited to have found it, along with the walking Marilyn.  Treasures!!

I tried something new today, tim's Distress Glaze.  It really worked out nicely, as I was able to use distress inks and Brusho's with water over the sealed image.  The stamp is actually Alfred, smoking a cigar with a bird landing on it.  I added the smoke with natural Bister, using a small brush and water.  I flicked some blue Brusho on the sky, over the blue distress ink.

THE QUEEN B..........

Sometimes it takes a while for things to come together to make a finished piece of art, such was the case for the Queen. I tried a gazillion papers for the background, and nothing did it for me.

 I am a little late on the Stampotique Designers Challenge, SDC 197, Tin Is In. I knew exactly what I was going to make, but I just couldn't get it all together for a finished piece. This background was made following Kate Crane and her Journal Soup class and was sitting on my desk. (Truth be told, I have been struggling with the tech's used in the class to come up with a great background, finally accomplished it on this one....and just liked looking at it!  LOL, thought I'd try to re-create this in other colors kinda' thing now that I finally got it.) So it jumped up and said, hey girl.......use me!!, and here it is.

Isn't she amazing, Mz. Queen Butterfly!

The B'fly is a tim die, I used metal, then painted it with black paint, embossed, sanded and added metallic pens back on for color.  The wings are curled slightly on the corners for dimension.  Of course you know this is Queen of Everything, by who else but Kate!  I'm going to frame this and put it on my wall as a true "feel good" accomplishment.

For The Boys.............Blogger Challenge

This week at Lisa's Blogger Challenge it's "For The Boys". I choose this old CHF stamp that really does not get used to often. I stamped it on a Brayer Roll technique background and added some color to the grass, lake boat and man. Will make a great card for upcoming birthdays.

shhhh, don't tell Lisa I re-named her challenge from Boys of Summer to For the Boys!  If she is busy, maybe she won't notice............shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, someday I'll learn how to follow directions, NOT!

                

He Was An Outlaw

This month the Product Focus theme at Artistic Outpost is to use Masculine sets. I just had to use "Black Bart"  from the new Wander and Dream stamp set that was just released.
 

There's something about a "wanted" man....men want to kill him, and women want to........well you know!  lol

Looks like the local Sheriff either uses the same poster over and over again, or is just shootin' up the place in anger cuz' he he can't catch the bad man!

My background was created with a piece of stash, distressed and colored with Bister.  Black Bart was colored with distress inks.  The wanted sign was created on an electronic machine and highlighted in white chalk marker.
