"Compendium of Curiosities" week 1

I'm so excited, my friend Linda, is running a challenge on her blog using Tim's new book, "Compendium of Curiosities", and this is week No. 1, Water Stamping.

This is the first chance I've had this week to sit down and try, I was really worried as a little birdie told me that 1 of my friends had a really hard time with this. I won't tell her that I got in in my first try, so shhhhhhhhhhh. Here is my tag...........

If you look close, you will see lighter shades of color, somewhat resembling shadows, or bleach stamping, that is exactly the affect you get from this lesson. Very kewl indeed. I used the David Stamp from Tim's line, and you can see what the stamp looks like here.......

can you see him on my tag now? I hope so........if not....take another look/see.

The reason I added the image of the stamp is cuz my DH couldn't understand what he was supposed to be looking at until I showed him the stamp itself, then he saw it clearly. So this is David. You'll notice that he has some sold hair coming down his face. When I stamped, nothing showed because there was nothing but a solid image. So...to get around that, I made David a hat from some of Tim's new Tissue Tape, luv that stuff, and gave him a flower topper. (If you look closely, you will see some color variation in the center of the hat, those are some of his curls.) I Also decided he needed an eye, an earring and an alpha tat! lol Can you tell I had fun with this!!

I used Chipped Sapphire and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks on my tag, and edged in Brushed Corduroy. I also used one of the new dies on the bottom edge, just because.

There is still time to join in this weeks challenge. Just go the the button on my side bar. I can't wait for the next challenge. hugz...........

Gerrie, you're a rock star! This is completely fabulous, and you got it on the first try?! Stud! (Or whatever the female equivalent is... stud-ette, maybe?).

I love that you used the David stamp. I was scared to try an image with that much detail, but it worked really well. Your embellishments are perfect (digging that earring!) and the Tissue Tape hat is too cool.

I'm so glad you're doing the Compendium Challenge, and I know everything you make is going to be awesome! It always is.

Hugs,
Linda
