FRIDA Flies for the Compendium of Curiosities

A very sweet friend sent me the new Sizzix Angel Wings Die (that are not quite available yet) and I have been dying to use them.  The die comes with 2 different shaped wings, and they are large, but a definite must have, thanks again Terry!  I have been playing with them for several days for Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Challenge this week, Distress Crackle, pg. 42.  First I learned, never make brown wings...yikes! what was I thinking?  I do think the arrival of the meteor showers last nite had something to do with my confusion!  At least that is my excuse!  So anyway, I remade them in white, outlined in gold paint dabber, distressed with Pumice Stone.

I knew I needed a large stamp, and used Frida from Lost-Coast-Designs, isn't she a FABulous lady!  I stamped in coffee Archival and used Bundled Sage reinker and my waterbrush to color her dress.  The Gold Perfect Pears make that beautiful necklace, with some Lettuce under the stone.  I used a piece of Tim's paper underneath, and did the Antique Wallpaper tech, embossed, from the TJNL.

Thinking ahead a bit, I am very lucky to be able to put this piece to a multi task this week and am using it in lots of challenges:

All Things Tim yahoo group
Compendium of Curiosities #9
Play Date Cafe Challenge  #42
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Wings
Stampotique - Wings

Hope you all have a great weekend, and keep cool!  hugz.....

Fabulous, for sure! Frida would be proud to see herself so beautifully memorialized, with her gorgeous, crackled wings (that die is AWESOME!) and her soft colors. As always, Gerrie, you've created something incredibly wonderful!

Personally, I'm blaming the meteor shower for EVERYTHING this week. Last week, it was solar flares. ;-)
