This week over at Linda's L3 Studio our challenge is to do faux patina on metal and/or paper. I have done both and paired this with the My Favorite Word challenge at Simon Says Stamp. I thoroughly enjoyed this tech, and will use it again. I made my flower first by die cutting it with an old Sizzix die, embossed it and then started layering on color in the red family. Next I did the card stock, using yellows and brown....after thought is that I shouldn't have stamped as much as I did so you all could see the beauty of the color.....but I do love it finished as it is! These tech's are wonderful, and in Tim's Volume II of Compendium of Curiosities.

Wow Gerrie what a stunner of a flower, love the texture from the embossing and your background is yummy. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challemge. Tracy x
It's a real beauty, Gerrie! I still haven't come up with an idea yet...and knowing the way I do things, I probably won't. Love that red flower!
Fabulous Gerrie! Inspiring too! Best wishes, Yvonne
Beautiful flower- wow! Love the stamping on the BG- I do not have the book- but the Bg looks perfect to me.
Your tag is beautiful! I love the background color. The red patina flower set against it is fabulous! I also love the black bow. That really makes the stamping on the tag pop! Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
No way you shouldn't have stamped it, it is truly gorgeous exactly like this! You chose a perfect center for it too!
That flower is stunning! Love this!
very pretty, love the brad or gem you used on the center of the flower.
Beautiful! I love all the added text and lovely metal embossed blossom!
Gorgeous flower...all that texture is yummy. Love the color contrast and the great background you've created here.
Gerrie, my darling: This. Is. STUNNING! I want to wear that flower. It's amazing!
Wow, Gerrie, you are so talented and knowledgable! I have always wondered how people have made things look "patina." And, I thought it could only be in blues and greens...you made such a fabulous patina enhanced RED flower. And, I don't think you over stamped. That flower will pop anywhere. It is truly amazing, my friend.
