Underwater Steampunk - Mixed Media

I made this Mixed Media piece for a new challenge group to me, SanDee & Amelie's Steampunk Challenge Blog. I saw several blog friends have played there, it's a monthly challenge, and I'm posting on time by my chinny-chin-chin! When I saw this theme, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and am very happy with my outcome.

Again, my friend Sue and her postcards from abroad....came to my rescue. This one says "The Best Fish + Chips on the "South Coast" The Mermaid, Hastings"....by Paul Dell.

A lot of different colors of blues and greens for the background, then my cog stencil, and I built it up from there with stamps, inks and glue. I have no idea what mermaids eat, do you?

I saw it in a dream!, lol.............

Very fun- I need more practice in Mixed Media before I can create like this- it is not natural to me...I never know what to put where and when to stop! Love the mermaid and the restaurant image from your postcard!
