Today on Lisa's Blogger Challenge it's Bling It On. I have been busy working on some projects for Just a Trace, and hope Libby (owner) will find interest and humor in the piece I am sharing today. I used the Mamma Giraffe 6 x 7 stencil this week and my Gelli Plate to make a heap of papers, using just this stencil and a few paints.....I had a lot of fun.
This project did not turn out as originally planned, but I love the outcome anyway, and am happy that creativity took over for me. I thought that I would use light spackle with the stencil on top of a print, and then of course did not know what to do with the piece.....ah, ha....left side of brain turned on, and we got to work! After the spackle dried, I then knew what I wanted, and started coloring the stones with various colors of Perfect Pearls. I love the textures and the colors, to me it really does look like old stone. You can see a little of the original print in the middle background, which I stamped over with tree branches. The majority of the stamps used are VLVS.
Thanks for stopping by, and find sometime to create this weekend.

I so love your spooky piece... those spackly stones look just perfect, and the skull's googly eyes are hilarious!

In total agreement with Alison as I also love this.
He is spooky but that the same time there is an element of mischief and humour.

Very cool! The stencil worked wonderfully to create the stones around the fun skeleton!
This is awesome, GF! It really does look like stone. I think you'd rather make spooky projects than anything else! Of course you are great at it!
