Bluebirds

The April referral challenge for the month is to use your Artistic Outpost images along with the theme of Birds.  I choose to use the Bluebird set and alcohol inks.   I used 16 colors of Lights and Brights Alcohol inks in blues, greens and yellows to make my background.   I used a little nib to pick up the ink and painted the birds.  I then came back and took tiny strokes with the nib and more ink to create the look of feathers.

Remember you still have time to play along for a chance to win!

Love the way the AI BG came out - I don't think I even own 16 colors! Simply beautiful!

Hi Gerrie~

This may be my favorite 2012 "Gerrie Card!" I can't believe your patience to use all of those colors in such minute ways. I love the clouds...they are so dimensional...is textural a word? Like it has a lot of texture to it?

I love how the beautiful birds are painted so carefully on top of sheet music. It that vellum? The birds are beautiful...I love birds! And, the flowers pop from the bush or tree. This is just stunning, Gerrie! I love that flying bluebird!

Wow!
