Join the Artistic Outpost Design Team for the release of the newest stamps, The Kudzu Kafe! First, for those of you that don't know Kudzu, it's a vine that grows a foot a day, and covers most everything that gets in it's way. If you've seen it and didn't know what it is.....well now you know. Seems that somewhere in the South, there was a cafe or 2 named after the plant, so..............."welcome" to Kudzu, population 195!
It's just a story but.....while going thru some old photos I came across these same people, over and over again....and found some history.....first up, it's the Kudzu Kafe, vintage 1925. Bertha works the Kafe, she's the one serving the coffee, and the extra pleasant personality and smile! Next is Buddy, he eats at the Kafe, as does most everyone in town, he is the Editor in Chief of the Kudzu Vine, a one man operation. And then there is Emily.........she owns the Kafe, is there from sun up to sun down.....takes all the cash and knows every one's business!
This wall hanging is 10 x 6.....the background is distress inks and stencils....lots of fun.
Sweet smilin' Bertha is wearing her finest for this old photo......
Watch for more of this new release coming soon!
